Does Slight Bleeding After 15 Days Of Menstruation Suggest Implantation?

default
Posted on Wed, 30 Sep 2015
Question: I had an hsg done on day 8 and everything was clear (thank god!) then I got a positive ovulation test on day 9 (super early for me). Then on day 15 I started bleeding. It was lighter than my period but still pretty red....lasted for about 3.5 days and turned dark brown at the end. My cycles are always between 27-31 days so a 15 day cycle is unheard of in my life. Could this be implantation even though it was reddish, a bit heavier than spotting, and lasted a few days? I am soooo confused and need your help!

Brief Answer:
Could be an abnormally early period.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
IMplantation bleeding is generally very light , almost like spotting, and lasts for 1 - 2 days.
It is possible that it maybe implantation bleeding, but chances are this would be your period, earlier than usual.
You had super early ovulation, so this could be a super early period.
That happens sometimes due to mild hormonal disturbance.
You will know only if you take a pregnancy test a week after that bleeding happened.
What day are you on now ?
Alternatively, you could get a pelvic ultrasound scan, which will tell you where you stand.
All the best.
