default
Posted on Fri, 28 Apr 2017
Question: Hi!
Hope you are doing well.
I have attached my two prescriptions, dentist is suggesting for root canal but I am confuse as there are so many negative points on this root canal even I heard that it can causes cancer.

I am of 27 years, I can expect 2/3 of my healthy remaining life so decision of extraction of tooth is not a problem for me.

Please suggest I have no issue to stay without tooth, I don't want to stay with some machine.

Brief Answer:
Rootcanal treatment is for conserving the teeth

Detailed Answer:
Hello Avishekh.
First of all thanks for approaching Healthcare magic for your query. I read through your query. I must say that first of all rootcanal treatment is for conservation of teeth. In the present scenario no one wants their tooth to be extracted. The world of dentistry is moving into conservation of the teeth structure(minimum intervention dentistry). And secondly I must say that rootcanal treatment uses various materials to kill microorganisms inside the root but it never causes cancer. No where in the literature or studies it is shown that rootcanal treatment causes cancer. So no need to worry about that. We dentists never do anything to harm our patients. We are here to solve your dental problems.Reading your query I must say that if you can please send your xray of the teeth we can say more details about the treatment whether rootcanal is better or extraction of teeth is better. So I request you to send the xray if you can so that we can reach a better conclusion and diagnosis of your teeth condition. And plan the appropriate treatment for the same.

Hope you have understood what I meant.Have a healthy and smiling day!!

Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for your reply.
before I start, I am very sorry on my remarks on root canal -cancer, google is liable for that.

I uploaded 3 picture of xray. Please advise,

is there any other way of relieve. I mean no root canal but you are only using some material to file the hole?

Is there any chances of new teeth at this age?

I heard that as I am destroying nerves so it indirectly effect brain if it is true then which one is safe?

sometime I experience sinus problem, will post root canal or extraction contributes something on it?

everyone loves his profession ...why all dentist wants to represent advantages but not a small disadvantages?

Please don't mind, these are only a patient's query to his doctor.

At the end, as my decision is depends on your advise and this decision believe that'' in future if anything bad happen , I should not blame you''

Thanks!

Brief Answer:
Better to do rootcanal treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hello Avishekh
Thanks for your prompt reply.I read through your query. I must say that seeing the xray the root area has infection . There are two treatments for this which was said by you only. One is preservation of teeth by Rootcanal treatment.Other is removal of the tooth. If you are my brother or relative I will suggest to go for rootcanal treatment and save the tooth(same I want to tell you). Do rootcanal treatment take antibiotics(for reduction of infection)and then put crown over it. If you are going for extraction you can do it after that you should go for implant ( prosthesis will be screwed onto your bone) which is more of a surgical procedure. Why to get things complicated if you can solve problem by doing rootcanal treatment followed by crown.Regarding the brain question, Rootcanal treatment is treatment of nerve only but it is very small nerve and doesnt affect the brain.Nothing to be worried about it.Dont panic and go ahead with rootcanal treatment.(Always natural tooth is better than artificial tooth).Hope you are convinced of my reply.Besides all these stay happy and have coop mind.Happy mind is the best medicine for any disease.Have a healthy day. Please do come to us with more queries we are eagerly waiting to solve your problems.please do review my reply so that I can improve on my future replies.Thank you.
