Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Bone scan is necessary to rule out osteoporosis.
2. If it were to be a internal organ injury, you would have atleast symptoms by now. CT and x-ray are clear indicating, no organ injury or fractures.
3. Osteoporotic bone can cause pain. At present, you are being evaluated to check for osteoporosis. It will be a routine scan.
4. The pain at present is due to minor soft tissue injury. In the elderly, it will take longer to heal. The pain will there for around two weeks and you can take painkillers for it. Improvement in protein intake and Vit C supplements will help in healing faster.
5. MRI will be better, if any major soft tissue injury or internal organ injury is suspected. Its not cardiac injury or lung injury, otherwise you would have severe breathlessness. If you any specific symptoms other than generalized pain, I can advise you further. However, no extra radiation exposure, rather than a repeat CT, MRI would be better. Hope you have no metallic items in your body including pacemakers.
6. Bone scan, if it shows osteoporosis will help in guiding treatment.
