Does Parotidectomy Have Any Effect On Vocal Cord?

Question: I have been diagnosed with a bowed left vocal cord.

I had a perodidectomy last October to remove a small benogn tumer the size of a marble. Could this be a side effect and what is teh treatment?

I hope that you meant to say parotidectomy which is the surgical removal of the parotid gland, the major and largest of the salivary glands that we have. The procedure itself will have no effect on the vocal cords. However, the anaesthesia for the process might have included endotracheal intubation wherein a tube in put through the mouth to the larynx just between the two vocal cords. I am not sure if there is a relation with this.
