Brief Answer:
no law and yes helicopters have stabilization equipment

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your questions.
There is no law stating that a hospital must notify next of kin when a patient is admitted by ambulance and in critical condition over the age of 18. Hospitals do usually try to notify next of kin in this situation so that they can help with medical decision making.
Helicopters used for medical emergencies have them equipment to stabilize patients but it really depends upon he condition of the patient. Some patients are not able to be stabilized in the field and must be take to the hospital as soon as possible for stabilization.

My only child was sent to the county hospital first, they kept him for over an hour before he was finally life lined to the trauma center . He passed away an hour later. He was an organ donor but nobody told the trauma center. I was not notified until he died. Is there not any policies about organ donations? If not ,why even register? Thank you

Brief Answer:
I am so sorry

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your follow up.
I am so sorry that this happened to your son. It sounds like things happened so fast that they did not have time to contact anyone. Usually if someone is a candidate for organ donation they look in their wallet and see that, then contact the family to make sure they want to proceed. Sometimes in the last stages of an event such as this the organs are damaged and not candidates for donation.
Again I am so sorry for your loss.
