Brief Answer:
Several factors influence PSA level, but not elevated BP.

Detailed Answer:

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your question, I would explain that, there is not any direct influence of elevated BP on PSA level.

But, it is true that some factors other than prostatic cancer may influence PSA level.

So, some antihypertensive drugs affect PSA level: chronic hydrochlorothiazide use is associated with lower PSA level; calcium channel blockers like amlodipine, diltiazem, etc. exert the opposite effect on PSA levels.

Statins and Aspirin also lower PSA levels, meanwhile prostatitis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, ejaculation, etc.do increase PSA level.

It is important to take in consideration any potential influencing factors, when dealing with PSA level interpretation.

Hope to have been helpful.

Greetings! Dr. Iliri
