Question: Can i take alcohol while taking ornidazole tablet ?
Also, can I take Flagyl along with ornidazole?

Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
Alcohol should not be taken with anti ameobic medicines like Flagyl or Ornidazole. They can cause severe reaction known as "Disulfram Like Reaction". It is mostly seen with Metronidazole (Flagyl) but since Ornidazole belongs to the same class of drug, alcohol should be avoided.
Both Flagyl and Ornidazole are effective in curing Entamoeba histolytica infection.
As far as anal fissures are concerned, treatment depends on the severity.
Mostly local anesthetic gels like Lignocaine jelly helps a lot in controlling the pain.
Make sure you pass soft stools and you may take Lactulose Syrup in night for that purpose.

Anal fissures may take months to get normal as the fissure has developed and it would take time to heal.
I would not recommend any pain killers until and unless pain is severe. Diclofenac can be taken in that case.
You should continue creamalax for long so that the fissures don't get worsen due to constipation.
You should take soft and bland diet
Avoid spices and oily food. Take one papaya a day it is a very good laxative.
