Question: Hi . My molar tooth crown came off and its been over 2 weeks now and i havent had time to go to my dentist to have it fixed . Should i expect an infection?

If the crown is dislodged and its already 2 weeks, then I fear that the crown must have distorted and it will not probably fit now..

So it is better to get it fixed as soon as possible..

Yes, the tooth has higher chances of getting decayed as for placing a crown tooth is prepared and the top hard layer Enamel is removed..
The inner layer that is dentin is exposed that is softer and decay can get rapidly progressed over it..

So it is better to get the crown re-cemented over the tooth.
If the existing crown does not fit then a new crown can be made..
