Does Zyrtec Or Ranitidine Cause False Negative Result For Vicodin In Urine Test?
Question: I have shown no vicodin in my urine the last 3 times and I wanted to know if any of the following OTC used in large doses could affect my urine test with a false negative:

I had gastric bypass surgery 3 years ago. Could that suddenly create a false negative?
If not do you have ANY idea why for 2 years I have always tested positive and in the last 4 weeks I test negative for vicodin in my urine.

Gastric bypass may cause some metabolic changes that lead to changes in removal of substance s from our body such as drugs and toxines. But this is not likely cause.
If you are taking same dosage all these years and doing same test then it is pretty unusual that test is constantly negative especially if you don't take any other drugs beside these two.
It is always possible human mistake during testing process. Also,if you take too much liqouds it may lead to diluted urine and cause minor undetectable vicodin concentration. The last, liver and kidney function may be facilitated due to liver hypertrophy ,it would cause faster vicodin elimination. And kidney disorder could cause vicodin accumulation in blood and it wouldn't be excreted by urine as in health y people. So if this bothers you and negative results persist,you should check you liver and kidney functions.
