Does Wellbutrin and generic equivalents contain ingredients that cause memory loss?
Negligible to be realized
Thanks for your query.
Sorry for the delay in my response.
Welbutrin (Bupropion ) when on 400 mg per day dose for duration more than a year, is assumed to cause memory loss. This side effect is considered to be subjective, as not all patients on the treatment complain of the memory loss. Hence, there are no studies conducted to back the fact yet.
The anterograde amnesia is thought to be secondary to the confusion, insomnia and altered alertness caused by Bupropion. Most of times it is negligible to be considered it in the side effect profile.
PS: Welbutrin contains Bupropion alone.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
