Question: I have high blood pressure...Im taking metoprolol succ 50mg...it is a beta blocker..ive been reading on line that it will make me gain weight..is that true?

Regarding your concern, I would explain that weight gain is a rare adverse effect related to betablockers, including metoprolol.

It can cause a slight increase in your weight (up to some pounds).

From the other hand their common adverse effects are low heart rate and low physical performance leading to chronic fatigue.

If such symptoms occur, you should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.
