Brief Answer:
Metformin can cause loose stools.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam, hi! High dose of metformin is causing the problem. Please take off glycomet 250 and 500 SR. or reduce the dosage of medication according to her sugar levels. please continue ZorylM2 twice a day. Recheck her sugars fasting and post meal 2 hrs, and let me know. Discuss all about this your treating doctor. Also please give her some sporolac or enterogermina probiotics for three days, three times a day for loose motions.

Thanks a ton Dr. She is taking entrogermina tablets. All her stool routine and culture reports are normal. She started these symptoms only after she started taking Glycomet sr 500 mg. Is it for her to take Glycomet 250 mg along with Zoryl m1 in the night? morning she takes Zorylm2 and Glycomet 250 after breakfast. Is this undigested tablet coming out in the stool a common symptom? Do u stay in Bangalore?

Brief Answer:
You are welcome ma'm.

Detailed Answer:
Dear ma'm, you may take off glycomet totally and make zoryl M2 twice a day. recheck your sugars and do let me know after 2 weeks. many a times many of my patients have reported similar thing as undigested tablet passing in stools. that happens with SR tablets, so it is not unusual. I recommend my patients to take it along with food so it gets digested.
I am at XXXXXXX ma'm.
regards!
