Does Meloxicam Interact With Torsemide?

default
Posted on Fri, 8 Sep 2017
Question: I have just been prescribed Meloxicam 7.5 mg for arthritis pain but I notice in reading that it may interact with diuretics. I also take Torsemide 20 mg twice day. Is it safe to take the Meloxicam before I can see my regular doctor?

Brief Answer:
You can take them together before you see your regular doctor!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The dose of meloxicam should be reviewed before being prescribed alongside torsemide. However, 7.5mg os such a small dose that will not raise any red flags at this time. I recommend you take them both together and bring this up when you next see your regular doctor. There is no harm in continuing at this time.

I hope this helps and clarifies. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
