Does Meloxicam Cause Side Effects In An Elderly With Quad Bypass?
Question: What are side effect of meloxicam on a 92 year old woman with quad bypass and has had major heart attack @ 65. Before quad surgery had several stints

I read your question and i understand your concern, at age of 92 years, with history of quadruple bypass surgery and Myocardial infarction, use of any NSAIDs not to speak of potent NSAIDs like Meloxicam is strictly prohibited as it can trigger serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, myocardial infarction (MI), and stroke, which can be fatal, also meloxicam is almost a black box warning for people with CABG history . So i would strongly recommend to avoid using it and prefer simple tylenol in maximum possible dosages for relief of pain upto 3gm per day can be used. Consult your rheumatologist and cardiologist both and let them reach on a common pill.
