Answered by Dr. Noble Zachariah (22 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Both are similar

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for your query.
Both Losartan and Micardis ( telmosartan) are ARBs and the benefits and side effects are similar.
Metoprolol and Losartan have similar half lives and so if available as a combination pill, this combination would be better than with Micardis which has a longer half life than Metoprolol.
If the medicines are to be used separately, I would prefer Metoprolol and Micardis as Micardis can be taken once a day and Metoprolol twice a day for optimum effect. So with Micardis you can take one tablet less.

Best wishes,

25mg losartan potassium or 40mg micardis which one is likely to cause more side effects

Secondly which one is more likely to cause erectile dysfunction

Thirdly examples of some of the blood pressure medication that does not cause erectile dysfunction

Answered by Dr. Noble Zachariah (9 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Statistically no significant difference.

Detailed Answer:
ED is due to a number of causes of which psychological factors are the commonest. Hypertension itself is a cause.
Of the antihypertensives, ARBs probably cause the least. There was a study published some years ago, in which ARB showed benefits.
In studies comparing efficacy and side effects Losartan 50mg is compared with 40mg of Micardis. There's no statistically significant difference between the two.
