Brief Answer:
Used to manage pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for query.

Abdominal pain is a principal and in many cases, the only observable symptom of pancreatitis. Drugs such as morphine, hydromorphone, and hydrocodone are used to treat pain in patients with pancreatitis.
So its just used to control pain in patient with pancreatitis.
It has no role in treatment of pancreatitis apart from pain management.

Thanks.
