Does GAD65 Test Detect Type 1 Diabetes?
Question: I have had to chg to a new doc due to old one retiring. I was diagnosed /w type1 diabetes 20+yrs ago at age 39, on insulin since. Now the new doc says it was impossible for me to be type1, wanted to switch me to pills which I refused to do. he wants to get a GADA65 test to see if I'm type 1 vs 2. Did some research and if I understand it right, after being on insulin 20+yrs that test wont be able to tell the difference. Is that correct?
