Hi,

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Diprospan is a steroid injection. The side effects of injection will vary and so there is no specific answer to your question. Monthly injections usually wont do much harm

Brief Answer:
Given intra articullarly or at the site of inflammation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Diprospan is a steroid injection with anti inflammatory, anti arthritic and anti allergic properties. It can be given locally at the heel or knees or shoulder in case of bursitis or fasciitis or tendonitis to reduce the local inflammation and pain. A single injection given with a local anaesthetic gives a sustained relief from pain for 4-6 weeks. The dose can be repeated after 8 weeks for 3-4 times. Repeated use of injection can cause friable tissue causing tendon tear.
The injection is given by a trained medical practitioner into the joint space or at the exact site of tendon insertion which is the root cause of pain.
I hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
Taking injection at the heel or knee will help more.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Taking a steroid injection in the butt will be absorbed in blood and will have systemic side effects with less of local effect at knee or heel. It is best to get a proper diagnosis regarding the cause of pain first and then get the injection at the local site of inflammation where it will be most effective with minimum systemic side effects.
Hope my answer is helpful.
