Does Diabeta Cause Hair Loss?

Question: Hi,

I am having severe hair loss since I started on diabeta sr medicine. Is hair loss a side effect of this medication. My doctor advised using ducray neoptide spray and shampoo. Is this good enough or should I look at changing my diabetes medication?

No, Diabeta SR is not known to cause hair fall. I would consider anxiety of the diagnosis, starting the medication or the PCOD itself to be the cause.

Yes, Neoptide is a good medication, you can take that. There is no need to change the medication.

If the hairloss did not come down, then you can apply MINTOP 5% solution to the scalp every alternate days.

Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

Hormonal imbalance seen rarely in women of your age. Such hormonal imbalace can cause hairs to fall for a short period of time.

Need not worry. I do not strongly believe that PCOD is a diagnosis in you.

Apply Neoptide and observe for a week or so. If no response then do use Mintop. Its much effective.
