Does Clomid Help In Getting Pregnant?

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Nov 2015
Question: Can i take clomid while on no hormone iud. I have XXXXXXX iud copper so i still have my period. So can i take clomid so that as soon as i take the iud out my chances of pregnancy/ovulation is increased?
Are your chances for twins increased the longer you take clomid? Just scared that i take it and we dont get pregnant till say the third month and then its twins...or more.
How long after pregnancy will the extra follicles be there from use of clomid?
Also when is the best time to remove the iud? Day before or after period?
Oh and sorry so many questions but does a higher dose if clomid as a first time user increase the chances of twins or more? Or is a high dose bad for me and not the baby. Was thinking of taking clomid along with natural fertility teas etc

Brief Answer:
Clomid increases chances of multiple pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question.
Yes, you can take clomid now if you are planning to get the IUD removed.
Yes, chances of twins are increased with clomid as it causes ovulation induction.
Clomid is known to cause multiple follicles to form in ovary. The follicles resolve once the pregnancy occurs, after few weeks.
IUD should be removed after the periods.
High dose increases the chances of multiple follicle formation, hence chances of twins are increased.
High dose of clomid can cause ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) in the woman which can lead to complications, hence starting with a low dose is advised.

ok thank you. Well this is what I want and maybe you can put me on the right start.
I would like to have twins. I am 33yrs old. 34 next year and I would like to knock two birds with one stone to be done at 35/35 lol. I would love twins one boy one girl but I know that is not in my hands so no way to up the chances there.
I am currently on the copper XXXXXXX I got in Indonesia and I am looking to be pregnant come September 2016. From what I read in your response I will remove the IUD a day or two before my period. However I do have pcos so it may or may not happen or date may change.
Now when do you recommend that I begin clomid before taking out the iud and what mg. I dont want to lowest dose but i do not want to risk my health or the babies health. I don't want to be pregnant before September but I would like to up my chances for twins and be pregnant once its removed in august or September. and how long should I take clomid if it doesn't work the first or second month. Is over the counter/internet purchase clomid safe. My doctor said that I cannot get clomid unless married.

Brief Answer:
Clomiphene is not over the counter drug

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
IUD should be removed AFTER your periods are over.
Clomid should always be taken after prescription and it is not an over the counter drug.
It should be started at the lowest dose only.
Clomid can be taken for maximum 6 cycles.

When does the period actually start? And on what days to take it. Because on the first two days or so its very light spotting and then its like a murder scene overnight. so when will I start counting the days to begin taking clomid? Will the three be the day of the heavy. All will they won be the day of the heavy. & I begin at 3 after that? And will it make a difference if i wait two cycles of clomid in my system before trying to conceive to hopefully get twins or will it make no difference waiting. Does more follicles mean higher chance of twins. Hopefully increase the chances without being crazy about it. I will speak to the doctor again and hopefully start on 100mg. Are there any serious side effects for me while taking it or the child before or after birth. My friends son has a sort of twisted mouth deformity and she was on clomid. Or dont do's such as other regular drugs or medicine i may be on. Or eat dont eat, drink dont drink. As of now im only taking amlodipine besylate 10mg and hydrochlorothiazide 25mg once a day. Im thinking that a miscarriage possibility is higher on clomid?im already tiny lol. Lastly i get different answers with my XXXXXXX So say 3yrs some say 5 and some say 10. What happens if its expired (3yrs). Not like it will rotten inside of me right? Lol . If its 10yrs im still good. I got it 2010
Thanks a lot. I know i have a lotof questions

Brief Answer:
Clomid from day2 of periods

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Clomid should be taken from Day 2 of the periods, whether light or heavy uptil day 6.
Taking Clomid from pri, or to planning conception do not increase the chances of twins.
You can discuss this aspect with your OBGYN specialist. XXXXXXX is for 5 years. When it remains in the body beyond its effective period, it does not decays in the body, rather it has no contraceptive effect any more.
