Brief Answer:
it's rather unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

although local irritation cannot be 100% excluded (potassium is an irritant for the gastrointestinal tract), it would be very unlikely. Such symptoms are usually caused by antibiotics, infections or various deficiencies (mostly iron and vitamin B12).

To reduce the chance of local irritation you should try to avoid letting the drugs in your mouth for long. Swallow them instantly and drink enough water afterwards.
