Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

No, this medication does not cause these problems. They are likely related to stress, anxiety, or age.

What would cause impulsive decisions at 64 years of age. I am concerned that I talk much more than necessary and make decisions too quickly

Followup

Detailed Answer:
This is likely due to life circumstances and stressors, not due to medication. I would encourage seeking out psychotherapy to discuss these changes and the environmental stressors leading to them.

Hi. I just started taking 40mg a day of prednisone for my Crohn s. Have had Crohn s for twenty years...had 12in of small intestines removed twenty years ago. Was on prednisone before surgery for almost 3 years. Have not had any issues since surgery but was on antibiotic five weeks ago for ear infection. Started having so much nausea from antibiotic and did not go away after stopping antibiotic so family doctor said I needed to see my GI doctor. GI doctor is 95% sure that I have a little Crohn s inflammation. Doctor prescribed 40mg of prednisone for two weeks and then tapper down 10mg every two weeks for next 8 weeks. During the whole ear infection issue my anxiety flared up so family doctor put me on 20mg of Celexa, which I have been on before. Been on prednisone for five day now and have noticed little more nervousness and anxiety, particularly in morning when I wake up. Sleeping has not been good for weeks so started taking .5mg of clonazepam at bed time to help sleep. I know this is a lot of info but I guess I have a couple of questions: 1. I m assuming the nervousness is coming from prednisone, but will it decrease? 2. Is it a better time of day to be taking antibiotic and Celexa? Thanks

My daughter is 16. She has extreme headaches and anxiety. Her doctor put her on 30 mg of celexa about 3 mths ago. For the last month she has been more withdrawn, her temper is worse and gets mad a a drop of the hat. Would this be caused by Celexa or just a typical teen? She has never ever acted this way.

I recently had the left portion of my thyroid removed due to an enlarged nodule. Since the surgery (7 days ago) i have been feeling very jittery. I have been unable to sleep for the past few nights. There was no evidence of hyper or hypo thyroid prior to the surgery. I am not on any thyroid medications. I take Celexa 40 mg once/day, daily vitamin and calcium supplement. Is this normal after this type of surgery?

My 98 year old mother was diagnosed with mitral valve regurgitation. She was placed on lasix and after 4 weeks became dehydrated as evidenced by an unexplained rash and itchiness on scalp and chest. Went to a dermatologist and the physician did not find any bug source, being that my mother resides in a nursing home. My mother s BUN rate was 90 but after being hospitalized for the past 2 days and hydrated with an IV is lowering now to 50. Her creatine level is normal as well as her glucose leves. Blood pressure is normal -146/72. They discovered a UTI for which the doctors are administering rocephin until they specify the exact bacterium. Results should be back today. She is on Celexa for mood elevation - which is questionable as to its efficacy (40mg daily for the past 2 years). A catscan yesterday revealed an enlarged liver which is pressing on the pancreas. They want to do an ercp scope to rule out gall stones - which she has no history of - what other tests should we run.
