Do Throat Muscle Cramps Indicate A Sinus Infection?
I normally deal with sinus infections throughout the year. About a week ago I started feeling the symptoms of a sinus infection again and started taking over the counter meds. With in the past two days I started having pain in my throat muscles. Not my throat like a sore throats but like my muscles are cramping.
So I'm wondering why my throat muscles are cramping and what I should do to take care of it. Also, how serious is this because it seems to get better then gets worse.
Chronic sinusitis with sore throat
Welcome to Healthcare Magic and thanks for putting up the query
The nasal secretions on sinusitis fall posteriorly into the throat causing sore throat. The muscles get spasmodic due to continuous clwsring of throat.
Please send me the picture of the throat so that I can suggest you better
You should get a xray paranasal sinuses done.
There is nothing alarming but sinusitis must be investigated and managed accordingly.
Use a fluticasone nasal spray twice daily. It will help you with symptoms. Also take tablet levocetrizine plus psuedophedrine twice daily for a week.
All the medicine prescribed by me will be available only on prescription.
Follow up with the required information.
