Do throat ache, coughing and sneezing with head pressure require medical consultation?
Your symptoms are suggestive of a viral infection os the upper respiratory tract.
I will like to know whether you have a fever and what your temperature is.
Also, do you have any digestive symptoms such as nausea, diarrhoea and vomiting? Last, did you get a flu shot this year?
I will like to have these details before commenting further. However, there is no red flag at this time that requires an immediate trip to your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
No antibiotics needed!
Acute episodes of sinusitis need no antibiotics as they are most commonly caused by viruses. Tylenol for pain, increased fluid intake and mucinex would do the magic.
You may also apply cold compresses for pain relief. If you, however, develop a temperature greater than 102 or have purulent nasal discharge, report for further evaluation and guidance.
Hope I have answered your query.
