Do Steroids Reduce The Effectiveness Of Implanon Device?

Question: My question is !! I've an implan device n my arm and have been on steroids for pain for the last 5 days will this reduce the effect of my family planning!!

Brief Answer: contraception efficiency is not effected Detailed Answer: Dear member, Implanon device in the arm has minimal interaction with steroids received for short duration. After have sexual intercourse how soon would a pregnancy test show a result... I do not actually have a cycle with the implanon

Brief Answer: three weeks later Detailed Answer: Dear member, Thanks for writing back. The implant acts by inhibition of ovulation and suppresses the endometrial tissue. So pregnancy chances are remote if there has been no ovulation. If you have had coitus(sex) and if we consider that by chance you ovulated (which is rare if you are on implant) around the same time then by 3 week's later pregnancy test will be positive if pregnancy has occured. So if you want to check for pregnancy after a particular act of unprotected intercourse then please check by urine pregnancy test after 3 weeks. Hope I have answered your query.
