Question: Do doctors require a visit every three months to maintain an Adderall prescription? They claim it's a new US federal regulation, but I'm not sure if I'm being taken for a ride. Thanks.

Due to potential of abuse and addiction Adderall is highly regulated medication on current date and doctors need to maintain clear records to show that it was essential to prescribe particular medication. It is also true that patient need to visit regularly as decided by doctor but not beyond the six months. However some states ask for every three months visit and do not allow the refill of prescription beyond three months.
