Brief Answer:

None of these drugs (apart from Seroflo) is having the steroid.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

No need to worry as none of these drugs (apart from the Seroflo) have the steroid.

For your information, the best treatment for asthma is inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (Budesonide or Fluticasone).

ICS is very safe because they act locally (lungs) without affecting other organs.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.

i am being treated for asthma but i don't want take any medicine that contain steroid. I am also having vitiligo for which natural treatment without steroid is going on.

If i have to take inhaler or accuhaler which one is safer and has minimum side effects? Seretide Acculhaer 500 or Seroflo Rotacap, or inhaler Levoline inhaler, or seretide Ivohaler 250/125?

you mean seretide accuhaler 500, seroflo rotacap 250, seretide inhaler, Levoline inhaler do not contain steroids and safe to use for lung/asthma? if so, out of these, which one will be the safest?
thanks

Brief Answer:

Levolin does not contain the steroid.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Thanks for your follow up question.

Levolin does not contain the steroid. Seretide and Seroflo contain Salmeterol and Fluticasone. Fluticasone is an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS). So Seretide and Seroflo contain ICS.

Both of them are safe and indicated for asthma.

So you can use either of these.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.

Thanks for your answer to my query.

Is corticosteroid part of steroid & will corticosteroid have any serious side effect if we use over a period time, say 3 months or so continousely?

Brief Answer:

Corticosteroid and steroid are same.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Corticosteroid and steroid are same. No difference. Systemic steroids have many side effects.

But local steroid (inhaled or topical) have least side effects because they act locally without affecting other organs.

If you take ICS properly and do proper mouth care, it won't cause any side effects on long-term use.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
