Diagnosed With Bacterial Bronchitis. On Medication. No Fever, Having Cough, Feeling Fatigued. What's Wrong?

Question: Diagnosed with bacterial bronchitis 3 weeks ago. Have been on 2 z pak scripts, given an inhaler and pred taper 5 days ago and mucinex DM. No fever but horribly XXXXXXX painful cough. Extremely fatigued and out of work almost entire month of July. What is going on?

Thanks for posting your query.

You have already taken a course of antibiotic and a course of oral steroids. There is nothing much that needs to be done now, as you will gradually recover and be your usual self.

You may continue taking mucinex, drink plenty of liquids preferably warm and take steam inhalation, as this will liquefy the sputum, which you may be able to cough out easily.

Do some XXXXXXX breathing exercises. Though you are not asthmatic, inhalers like salbutamol + budecort combination or in the nebulized form may help as airways become hyperactive reactive after a bout of infection.

I suggest you try these for a while. Take care of your nutrition, take a vitamin supplement and have adequate sleep. With these measures, you will soon be on the way to complete recovery.
