Thanks for sharing your concern here,
Your description of tightness and pain on exertion along with shortness of breath there is strong possibility of Angina.
Other possibilities are spine problems or lung pathology?
However I would like to know
1) How long you are getting this kind of pain and is this is relived by taking rest?
2) Do you have History of High BP or Diabetes?
3) Do you have Asthma or Cervical spine issue?
4) Do you take any regular medicine?
First step would be to do a resting EKG and depending on result, appropriate action may be taken.
Once I get required information, can answer in detail

Thanks for your input,
Please get your 12 Lead EKG and as emotional stress could be a factor, if EKG shows something then treatment can be planned accordingly.
If it is absolutely normal, later on 2 D Echocardiography and a Treadmill test along with consultation with Cardiologist would be appropriate.
Benicar for your BP is great, and you readings are also fine, continue same medicine under the treating physician.
Please inform about progress.
Take care

I am sixteen and one day at football practice my heart seemed to beat way harder than normal, i could feel it through my whole body and when i felt my chest i could feel my heart beat way more than ever, and i also had chest discomfort and anxiety, ever since then my heart seems to beat harder all the time, and after exercise it takes longer to calm down, i will also get random chest discomforts on certain days,my EKG, holter moniter, and event moniter results have came back normal, but months after that day at practice my heart continues to beat hard, and when i feel my friends hearts through their chests i can barely feel theirs beat,is there anything that could cause this change, because my heart never did that before.

Preop ekg normal and new ekgs show slight t wave changes. Checked for PE, CT clear and lower ultrasound clear. ECHO 67% EF, normal nuclear and treadmill stress test, normal cardiac cath, carotid us. TSH was 5.4 at the beginning of Jan. but returned to 2.3 2 wks later. Taking Cartia 120 mg once daily and Metoprol 12.5 bid. Sent to cardio EP, who states that condition is due to low sodium levels and advised to up sodium. Sodium levels taken 3xs over this period have been between 133 -135. Intermittent slight chest pain continues, returning to work next week. Primary care does not believe it is due to low sodium levels, doing 24 hr osmality and sodium tests. Is there anything else we should look for?
