Could Dull Pain In The Molar Teeth In The Lower Jaw Be Due To Impacted Wisdom Teeth?

Question: Hi,
I have a dull pain in the molar teeth in the lower jaw (predominantly on the right side). I consulted one dentist and he made the diagnosis that it may be due to impacted wisdom teeth. I am looking for a second opinion. I have attached the panoramic xray. Kindly advise. Please also let me know if any other issue can be seen with the teeth.

Brief Answer:
Yes, appearing probably due to wisdom teeth only.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have viewed your image and yes, it is appearing to be due to impacted wisdom teeth only as it is appearing to be putting pressure on the adjacent tooth that is second molar.

Also the gum flap might be inflamed causing pain.

So the best advise is get the wisdom teeth removed.

Another thing is lower left second premolar tooth should be checked clinically as it is appearing decayed.

So please get it checked too.

For now you can start with a course of antibiotics like Augmentin and anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen after getting prescribed by your Dentist.

Please write back for more queries.

Regards.

Dear Dr. XXXXXXX

Thanks for your reply.

I was just wondering about the second premolar that you have mentioned. I have just marked it on the x ray for my understanding (attached in the reports section filename second premolar), could you tell me that is the tooth you are referring to ? I will get it checked soon with my dentist.

Thanks,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Yes, marked correctly.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Yes, you have marked the tooth correctly.
Do not worry as it is looking slightly decayed and a clinical check will confirm it better as at times a bit doubt can be there in an OPG.

Thanks.
