Could Autoimmune Disease Be A Reason For Multiple Miscarriages?

default
Posted on Tue, 18 Dec 2018
Question: Hello, I recently miscarried at 5 weeks, threatened mc x 1 week followed by spontaneous loss. No reason determined, however the tissue I passed look identical to tissue I psssed 3 years prior during a late period - almost like a small rubber balloon with all the air out. My OB said that was likely a mc as well. I have to insert 100 mg Progesterone vaginally now on cycle day 12 in an effort to prevent further loss. I do have a positive ANA, no further DX. Could this be contributing to the multiple losses?

Autoimmune disease may cause multiple miscarriage.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

As you are having multiple abortion, if you are diagnosed as a case of autoimmune disease, it may also be one of the causes of multiple abortions.

Progesterone is supportive during pregnancy.
