Child started vomiting. Looking normal and playing fine. Suggest some effective medicine

Good morning Doctor,

My son XXXXXX 2 years 8 months is vomiting food or water whatever he takes since yesterday night. He is looking normal and playing fine. Can you suggest medication please?

Thanks for posting your query.

The reason for vomiting could be:

Viral infection
Food/water borne infection
Over eating etc.

Your son is quite young and without proper physical examination and some clue about diagnosis it is not advisable to give any medications.

Please do the following which should help.

Give him sips of lemon water orally. If he vomits, stop for some time and start again.
Light diet to eat.
You can also give him small piece of ice to suck.

In most of the cases this will help and vomiting will stop. If it dose not then visit to a doctor is advisable.
