Child Has Hypotonia And Ataxia. Does That Mean He Has Cerebral Palsy?
Question: Hi, my son has a disability- both Hypotonia and Ataxia. Wouldn't that be Cerebal Palsy?

I agree with you that both hypotonia and ataxia are features seen in people with cerebral palsy. However, to qualify as cerebral palsy, these features should be present since birth/early childhood and should have resulted due to insult to the brain during the perinatal period (just before or during delivery). If you have MRI/CT brain reports, it would be helpful.
