Child has fever. Advised Clamp suspension and crocin for throat infection. But still has fever. What to do?

18 month old son having fever since last 4 days. Pediatrician diagonosed as throat infection and advised CLAMP suspension twice a day and Crocin if fever crosses 99. but fever still persists after 2 days of taking this medicine. Please advise.

Brief Answer: It is better to get the throat swab cultured. Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for your query on health care magic. It is only 2 days after giving medicine,It takes about 5 days to complete the course. Hence it is better to wait for 3 more days. Meanwhile you can get the throat swab cultured and sensitivity determined, so that you can know whether the antibiotic already in use is alright or you need a change of antibiotic. In case the culture turns to be sterile and no improvement after 5 days of therapy, you may switch on to amoxycillin and clavulanate which is a better alternative for upper respiratory tract infections. Any way be in touch with your pediatrician and with his advice you make alterations.
