Hello,
Thanks for the query.
From the history you have provided, it seems that your child is suffering from acute pharyngo-tosillitis. This means that he is having infection of the tonsils and pharynx. The common presenting symptoms of this disease includes ; fever, nasal congestion, runny nose, red, swollen tonsils covered completely or in patches by pus, difficulty in swallowing, bleeding patches on the tonsils.
Usually it is caused by viral or bacterial infection. In your child, viral infection seems more likely as he has strong cough and cold.
I would advise you to administer him saline gargles, give paracetamol if he has fever, a cough suppressant and an antihistaminic for his cold.
Hope this answers your question.

thank you, you are correct, he does have a runny nose and sneezing a lot which is why i thought it was allergies since he is prone to getting allergies, i had taken him on last friday because he had a low grade fever all day and they gave him antibiotics but his doctor told me not to start him on it unless he got worst so i only just started him on the antibiotics last night. what is paracetamol is that like a form of Tylenol?

Hello,
Paracetamol is an antipyretic and analgesic used for reducing fever. It is similar to Tylenol in action and composition as both have acetaminophen as the active compound.
Hope this answers your query.
