Can Cataract Surgery Lead To Black Floaters In Peripheral Vision?
Question: Cataract surgery 49 hours ago. after 18 hours had eye pressure of 48. Had to go to surgeon to have eye tapped twice. pressure then 13. Since surgery I have black floaters peripheral vision. Surgeon said this is the medicine he used. He acted as though they would disappear, but I didn't ask. Now using beta blocker eye drops, see surgeon on Tuesday. I am so disappointed and upset about such a normal surgery. Is it normal to have black floaters? what should I be doing?

Before surgery proper checkup for glaucoma was not done. Now it is to be controlled by drop like tenelol and can take tablet like diam-ox and surgery like trabeculectomy can be done for control of IOT.
It should be done as per the advice of treating doctor. Floaters are due to the degenerative problem of the retina.
Fundus examination is to be done to locate hole tear and peripheral detachment. Can consult retina surgeon.
Rays can be applied to seal peripheral detachment which can avoid imminent detachment.
There is no treatment for floaters they can be kept under watch. It is normal to have floaters.
Thinking of black floaters with an iron constant of blood is not correct. Using beta blockers is alright but the pulse rate should be monitored.
Need not be disappointed since it can be treated. Take the advice of eye doctors.
