Question: i have spilt hot oatmeal on my chest,its burnt,red and in 2 small spots the first layer of skin has come off,I have run cold water over it,and cleaned it gently with soap and water,should it be covered,and should I put Neosporin on the area

Silverex cream or any cream with silver nitrate

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You need not cover. it seems you have first degree burns and you did right thing by running cold water.
I suggest not to cover instead apply silver nitrate ointment/ cream over it twice a day for a week.
since it's painful you can take pain killer analgesic like brufen 400mg.
