Question: my 25 year old daughter is 15 weeks pregnant and in need of a sleep medication that is safe...what can she take. The OB suggested Vitamin B6 with Unisom. Is this safe? This is supposed to help with the nausea & vomiting.

Brief Answer:
Safe in pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for trusting health care magic
Yes both these medicines are safe and can be taken by pregnant patients
But these are for nausea and vomiting of pregnancy and not sleep inducing treatment
Excessive sleep is a minor side effect of these drugs which is not seen in all patients either
So if she has problems with sleeping ask her to take these pills initially as advised in night time and then see the sleep pattern. If she is comfortable then continue same but if not then visit your gynaecologist for prescription of sleep inducing tablets.
All the best
