Brief Answer:
Might need to visit the nearest ER for tenderness

Detailed Answer:
Hi Ericilefty ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef, a general surgeon answering your query.

It is good to see the concern you have about your own health. The jelly like mateial which you described might have been the fecal material stained with blood/altered blood mixed with mucus from the intestinal wall. This does not mean what you described is not correct, but in my opinion this could be the possibility.

I am concerned about the tenderness in your stomach area as stated by you. If the tenderness persists or increases, I would advise you to visit your nearest hospital to get it reviewed with a clinical examination of your abdomen, and some related investigations. Till then you could continue either with cimetidine, or a proton pump inhibitor to be advised by your doctor. I would also advise you to undergo an ultrasound of the abdomen on consultation with your doctor. In the mean while, you should consult your doctor for temporarily stopping any blood thinning agent if you are on.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.

Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
