Brief Answer:
should improved if the eye was washed out enough

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Any foreign object or chemical that enters the eye should be washed out repeatedly for at least a few minutes.
You stated that you washed it out with tap water, which is fine. If you did this for 7 to 10 mins,( sometimes more is required, 15 to 20 mins).

If you did not wash it this length of time, then you may need to wash it for a longer period of time.

Once the eye has been washed well, the stinging or any symptoms of irritation, should resolve.

If there is no improvement within a few hours (1 to 2) or there is any worsening or any symptoms such as excess watering, pain, sensitivity to light, disturbed vision, then you should be seen

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Brief Answer:
plastic object

Detailed Answer:
It appears to be plastic, not a sharp object that can inject or cut or scrape and therefore would not transmit any blood borne illnesses such as HIV
