Brief Answer:
You may use silicon nipple sheild for breast feeding

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns but don't worry.
You may use silicon nipple shield while feeding. They fit snugly upon the flat nipples and help baby for proper latching. Along with that use syringing method to correct inverted/flat nipples daily 8-10 times. You may use breast pumps if required for milk expression. This will help you in establishing breastfeeding which is in best interest of your child.

In the meantime while use lactodex premium, lactogen or Nan pro 1 milk formulas. All are good. Don't worry about maltodextrins as they are glucose source for newborn and doesn't harm. Keep proper sterility while preparing and feeding. Dilute the powder after proper measurement. The reason for constipation can be inadequate feeds, so ensure regular feeds. Tolerate mild discomfort of passing poops. It's normal in infancy.

Hopefully it will be of help. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.

Brief Answer:
Give him on demand feeds

Detailed Answer:
Hi
You need to add 1 scoop for every 30 ml. He needs around 120 ml /feed. So add 4 scoops for 120 ml water. Give him feed 2-4 hourly and increase the amount if required as every baby's appetite is different.

Keep trying for the breastfeeding before each feed. Take dates, fenugreek, milk along with your diet. Take plenty of fluids and a healthy diet. You may take Perinorm tablets to increase milk production. Also, continue syringing method for correction of nipples. Avoid stress and stay calm.

Breast milk has many good things which are not present in any of the formula feeds. And most mothers are able to establish exclusive breastfeeding with their best efforts in spite of flat nipples which is a common problem.

Hi,

Thanks for help my son constipation problem has removed.
He does light green followed yellow poop is that normal as he is on nan pro1 or does it indicate lactose overdose?
he does fart lot of timez.
Some times he is so colic iam skeptical of giving Ny gripe water i want to know is himalaya bonnisan good as its ayurvedic.

He has nasal congestion n when he breathes thr is noise can you please suggest home remedies or anything for nasal congestion
doctor
Answered by Dr. Archana Verma (6 hours later)
Brief Answer:
You may use bonnisan drops

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns but don't worry. Infants show great variations in frequency, colour and consistency of poops. Also, they are flatulent on many occasions. Avoid unnecessary medications as far as possible. But if he has too much discomfort then bonnisal drops can be used.

Continue with breastfeeding and Nan Pro 1 in proper dilution and hygiene. It won't harm if given properly. No need for gripe water at all.

You may use normal saline nasal drops (nasoclear) and room humidifier for nasal congestion. Give oil massage with olive oil an hour before bath daily.

Hopefully it will be of help. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.

My baby doesnt burp often and always spits out n hungry every 2 hours
I try to make him burp like for 1/2.hr but no use
Is milk digested and to be XXXXXXX i just bf him once a day and rest he is on nan pro
doctor
Answered by Dr. Archana Verma (49 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
No need to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Babies ingest air while feeding and crying. This is known as aerophagia. And to avoid discomfort due to aerophagia, we advice for burping in between and after feeds for few minutes. Even if baby doesn't burp loud, it's still useful. So, don't worry.
It's normal for infants to demand feeds every2 hourly. You may increase the quantity of feeds given during each session if he is acceptable. Gradually the frequency will decrease.

Try to breastfeed more often as it's the best food for baby if possible.

How to avoid spitting up after every feed most of times he spit some but someday he spits like whole milk wht he had for feed
doctor
Answered by Dr. Archana Verma (4 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Try the following measures

Detailed Answer:
Hi
If your baby is gaining weight, passing urine (at least 6 times/day) and active, then there is no need for worry. Babies puke often in this age due to aerophagia and gastro oesophageal reflux.
Try following measures to help him:
- Handle him gently and burp him often.
- Try to keep him in an upright position during and after feedings.
- Nurse frequently. Smaller, more frequent feedings are easier to digest.
Most babies improve after 3-4 months of age.
