Can Severe Cardiac Issues Be Treated Without A Stent While On Cardiac Medications?
Question:
My Uncle has the Heart issue. I got the suggestion from other doctor that though it is a serious heart problem, He got various tests done in the last week and planning to get Cardiac MRI done next Tuesday. I am going to attach the reports.
The reason I would like to know if it is a serious threat to his immediate life is because we are going to plan to travel to India(From US) if it is going to be a serious threat in near future.
Doctors might evaluate if Heart-stent can be performed after the MRI Result, I would like to know the out-come if stent cannot be done on his heart for any reason. Is the survival can be long with medications (without having stent) with his current condition?

Hello,
Due to a heart attack, his heart functions are deteriorated and should be taken into consideration if any medical therapy can help.
His Echo parameters are not much favorable and he is at the risk to develop heart failure, life-threatening Arrhythmias or sudden cardiac arrest.
If cardiac MRI gives you any hope of viable heart muscle then you should go for the cardiac stents because it can improve his heart functions by lowering the risk of cardiac arrhythmia, heart failure, and sudden cardiac arrest.
Some of the medicines can help to relieve his symptoms but won’t help much in cardiac function improvement and life expectancy is not more than 5-6 years.
It’s advisable for you to wait for Cardiac MRI report and get the cardiac revascularisation done if possible or you can get this done in XXXXXXX also if your treating doctor allows you to fly.
