Question: Can pregablin 75mg tablets effectively control anxiety symptoms such as dizziness muscle spasms and fatigue. I have been prescribed these now but havent started

Hi! Pregabalin is an anticonvulsant drug used for neuropathic pain and as an adjunct therapy for partial seizures in adults. It has also been found effective for generalized anxiety disorder and is approved for this use in the European Union and Russia. Hi yes im waiting to see rheumotologist now but i had onset of symptoms about three months ago which have made me feel very ill and disrupted my life considerably. Im having acupuncture and physio as this problem stemmed from a holuday i we t on last aug( 8 montgs ago) where i hurt my neck jumping into a pool the physio says its my scalene muscle ... And some nerve problems too as my tip if tongue went numb. How longs does pregablin take to be affective?? Im very sensitive to medications hence why my delay in taking it. Please could you advise me of how this medication helps with dizziness and muscke spasms neck pain etc..... Also im asthmatic and on clenil 100 mg lanzoprasole 30mg and allergic to penicillin. Would this drug interact with my current meds?

Brief Answer: 15-20 days. No interaction.Inhibitory function Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for the followup query. I like to answer your last question first. 1. Pregabalin has no any significant interaction with clenil or lansoprazole. So you can safely use it. 2. Pregabalin is a GABA analogue and increase the GABA concentration in brain and also decrease glutamate release and inhibit calcium channels which were upregulated in neuropathies. GABA has inhibitory function in spinal cord and due to inhibition of calcium channels this drug may help in reducing the symptoms of muscke spasms neck pain etc and also minimize further nerve damage if any. 3. Pregabalin will start working from the day you start taking it but the recovery depends on your current health status, responce to drug and also the damage that has happened till now. By 15-20 days you will start feeling the difference. Clinically I have used this drug to 100's of my patients without any side effects and any problem. They have improved much from the diabetic neuropathy. So no need to worry to use this drug. I hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask if any further queries.
