I can understand your concerns.

Corex contains opioids which does cause dependence.

It is difficult to quit it as withdrawal symptoms are painful.

There are two ways to manage this problem:
1. Replace it with another opioid like tramadol (prescription drug) and then withdraw it gradually as it is relatively easier to withdraw.

2. Symptomatic treatment.
Amitriptyline for insomnia and diarrhea,
Promethazine for running nose,
Diclofenac for pain.

As all these are prescription drugs, you must consult your psychiatrist for proper management.
