Can Levonorgestrel Show Up In FSH And LSH Test ?

default
Posted on Sun, 15 Apr 2012
Question: I would like to know if levonorgestrel (in next choice) would show up in a FSH or LH test? Would those tests detect it (if yes, for how long?) Or would it show up as a progestorone hormone?

Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Levonorgesterol is a hormone of the group progestins.
FSH and LH are also different hormones.
Sample can be tested for FSH and LH or Progestins.
These are all different hormones with different functions and chemical nature.
All these are naturally occurring hormones and are present in the normal human being.

Progesterone(Levonorgesterol) levels can be detected in the blood also but it has to be specifically tested for that.

Dear Doctor

These are basic definitions which, i could have found for myself. I do not need definitions, I need to know about blood testing and hormone detection for specific blood tests.

Hi again,

I will simply it for you,

No, the Levonorgestrol cannot be detected by Fsh and Lh test.

The Levonorgestrol can be tested by a separate specific test.

Hope I answered your query and the same helps you.

Wishing you good health.
