Brief Answer:
If tested within last 3 years yes better to retest

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

If you were once diagnosed with human papillomavirus (HPV) and were treated for them then. it is advised for you to undergo screening that includes testing for HPV and pap smears once every 3-5 years at least.

If your last HPV test conducted within the last 3 years has reported a negative result then I would say that you are safe to contact your new partner. But I would still recommend a recent HPV test and a pap smear before you initiate contact with your new partner, that would make it most safe.

i hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.
