Can Hernia Cause Testicle Swelling?

Question: I am 83 years old.
I have a hernia, which I have had for a couple years, I read in the Daily Male some time ago that any body old should just leave it, I have had two operations on that side the last one thirty years or more, this last two weeks at night when I lay in bed my Testicals on that side swells up.
can you pleased advise.

If this was a large hernia, testicle swelling is a normal thing. There may some fluid appear in the scrotum (hematoma). As it is 2 weeks after the surgery, no need to worry at this point. This is a very early stage of healing.
The alarming symptoms are fever, pain, redness of the scrotum, painful testis when palpating it.
If you have any of this symptoms, you should consult your surgeon and have it checked with an ultrasound.
