Question: Can a endoscopic cervical discectomy Be done while also removing Bone spurs at the same time at the C-5 and c-6 level of the cervical spine ?

I have a large Bone spur and a hernoated disc indening on the spinal cord, Or would artificial dsic replacment be better than a endoscopic cervical discectomy ? considering there are bone spurs as well as herniated discs

Brief Answer:
Open surgical discectomy is the best option

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for posting
I have gone through your query carefully and understand your concern. To have the best result after cervical discectomy, disc replacement is recommended. In view of this it would be better to have conventional surgery for cervical discectomy, bone spur removal with disc replacement.
Hope this helps. I shall be glad to answer any further query.
Take care

c6-c-7 left parasagittal disk hernitaion with superimposed vertebral ostephytes indenting on the ventral spinal cord resulting in moderate spinal canal stenosis
disk material encroaches on the left exiting c7 nerve root reslulting in mild proximal left neural foraminal narrowing.

Would The above findings be connected to Cervogenic headaches at all ?

Brief Answer:
Uncommon to have headache

Detailed Answer:
Hello
It's good to see you.
I have gone through your reply carefully and it is uncommon to have headache because of nerve compression (C5 and C6), they may lead to radiating pain, numbness, tingling sensation along with weakness of grip in arm and hand.
Hope this answers your query.
