Brief Answer:
No. Calcium chloride can't be used instead.

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Calcium and sodium both have different functions in our body. Maintenance of levels of both of this elements in our body is important. But calcium can not be used as an alternative of sodium.

Normal blood levels of calcium - 9-11mg/dl.
Normal blood levels of sodium - 135-150meq/dl.

Usually low salt diet needs 1-2gm of salt in a day. Which we can get even from our usual diet also. We need to check also about whether you are taking any medication which can cause low sodium. So, kindly mention whether you are taking any medications or not.

Usually at the age of 80, calcium supplementation is also required. Daily 500mg tab of calcium is enough actually along with healthy food for calcium supplementation. Rich sources of calcium are milk and milk products , banana and fortified foods.

Kindly mention also whether you are suffering from any disease or on any drugs also. Because at old age chances of low sodium and calcium are high. So maintenance of both is very important.

I hope that I have given you satisfactory answer, if you have any questions you are always welcome.
Thank you.
Have a nice day.
