Can Brain MRIs Diagnose And Classify Migraine?
Question: I have had ocular migraines since I was 12 yrs. old. I get about 3 or 4 a year. I have had an increase since Oct. They last almost exactly 20 min. just tiredness around the eyes no real headache. My Dr. wants to do an MRI. That seems a bit extreme and I can find no articles that indicate this would be the protecal for these occurances given my history. Do you think an MRI is warranted?

I agree with you on the MRI. Since the ocular migraines have been there for years an MRI is not going to find anything abnormal. The likelihood of finding any pathology on and MRI for migraine is extremely low. I agree I would not have the MRI
